Post-rehearsal venue

Join us!
If you are male, enjoy singing and good company, we would urge you to consider becoming a member of the choir. You do not have to be a Pavarotti, or even need to be able to read music. All that is needed is the ability to sing in tune, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

If you decide to give it a go (and you can do so without any initial commitment) you will receive a warm welcome, and also you will get plenty of support. Our conductor will supply you with all manner of tapes (or even computer disks) to learn from and you will be assigned a designated member of the choir to give advice and help when needed. Though some choir members do read music, many don't, and that doesn't matter as all pieces are learnt note by note. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening at 7.30 at Steeton Methodist Chapel Schoolroom and last for two hours.

We are pleased to report that the choir's membership is currently in a healthy state, but in order for the situation to continue, we do need a constant supply of new members so it is in our interest to look after anyone interested in joining!

What you will gain from joining apart from new friends and new skills which you probably didn't know you had, is actually quite hard to explain to someone who has never sung in a large choir. What we can say is that to be one of 60 odd voices singing, for example, one of the great Welsh hymns at full throttle is one of the great experiences not just in music but in life. Not for nothing do you keep hearing of the "hairs on the back of the neck" factor in Male Voice Choir circles.

If you feel you would like to give it a try, contact our Recruitment Officer, Ken Wardell (01943 817432) , or even speak to any choir member after a concert. Indeed, there is an open ivitation to anyone to come along to our Monday evening rehearsal. You can be assured of a warm welcome. We also have an open evening each year which Ken can tell you about.

If you wish to support us in other ways, you might wish to consider becoming a patron of the choir.
